I have been obsessed with this band Connan Mockasin for the past month. Their new album Forever Dolphin Love is the shiz. Especially the live bonus tracks.

If you enjoy such bands such as CAN, then Connan is for you.

Also pretty sure that dolphin girl will show up in a nightmare at some point in my life.

I directed a music video for Bess Rogers and it’s out today!

All the animations were hand-built out of pipe cleaners, photographed as stills, and inserted into the video through the magic of After Effects.

A ton of people helped out on this, but three brilliant guys devoted huge amounts of time and effort.  Logan Strobel was the After Effects Frog Wizard, Hunter Hill produced and edited, and Hua Liu flew to L.A. just to D.P. this.  So thanks to those guys and thanks to the rest of the crew (assistant director James Leffler, make-up savant Mariah McGinnis, wardrobe master Lan Chu, and Scott Dow & Nick Muller in grip & electric).  You guys are champions.

I really enjoy being digitally linked to “the” Frog Wizard. 

Had a lot of fun working on this music video. Incidentally I will never look at a pipe cleaner the same way, ever again.
